After all these years they, unsurprisingly, make it look so easy, all very relaxed. Paul Jones’ harmonica simply speaks to you, as does his smooth, uniquely, silky voice, this is authentic blues.
Each band member makes his own distinctive contribution to the performance in their own right, they are a very rounded cohesive whole.
The epithet “amazing” is often bandied about among musicians, but The Blues Band truly deserve it.
The loud and raw heavy rhythmic, blues pulse occasionally gave way to slow blues as in Curtis Mayfield’s “People Get Ready” to provide variety to this simply stunning show.
